Launch of Circular ReBoundary

As part of the CircEUlar project, CMCC is proud to announce the launch of Circular ReBoundary, an innovative online resource designed to support circular economy practitioners across various sectors, particularly those working in buildings, mobility, and manufacturing.

Who is it for?

Circular ReBoundary addresses professionals interested in circular economy practices, whether they are newcomers to the field or experienced practitioners looking to deepen their knowledge. While the resource is particularly relevant for the buildings, mobility, and manufacturing sectors, the rebound effects and stakeholder testimonials sections offer insights applicable across all industries.

What does it offer?

This digital resource takes the form of an insightful learning journey

Users can explore a curated repository of circular economy best practices, including a listing of other existing repositories to ensure quality referencing and easy access to relevant resources.

The platform also features real-world insights from industry peers collected during a dedicated workshop, showcasing the challenges and lessons learned from implementing circular practices.

One of the resource’s key features is access to CircEUlar project survey results on behaviors across five European countries: the UK, Lithuania, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. These surveys examine consumer attitudes toward car sharing, second-hand purchases, repair services, space sharing in housing, and downsizing preferences, as well as employee behaviors and their willingness to propose circular initiatives within their organizations.

Circular ReBoundary dedicates substantial attention to the often-overlooked rebound effects of circular practices—the mechanisms that can reduce or even negate the beneficial impacts of circular economy initiatives on resource use. The platform goes beyond identifying these effects by offering actionable strategies through its “Setting Boundaries to Rebound Effects” section that professionals can implement to minimize rebound effects in their own contexts.

We created Circular ReBoundary as a practical resource that guides professionals through circular practices and rebound effects while connecting them to existing repositories and expert resources in the circular economy community,” says Eugénie Joltreau, CMCC researcher who led the development of Circular ReBoundary.
