Bridging Research and Policy on Circular Economy Pathways to Net-Zero
Reflections on how circular economy modelling research can better inform policy for the transition to net-zero.
Reflections on how circular economy modelling research can better inform policy for the transition to net-zero.
A dynamic afternoon exploring evidence-driven insights on climate mitigation contributions from circular economy strategies for construction – buildings, transport and energy infrastructure; services – housing and mobility; and system-wide enablers and impacts including digitalisation, behaviour change, and rebound effects.
The event was not only an opportunity to review progress and share research, but also to hold stakeholder workshops connecting the project team with external experts and policy actors.
Transitioning to a circular economy model, through the reuse of materials, sustainable construction practices, and improved renovation strategies, can play a key role in climate change mitigation and the reduction of environmental impacts.
Over the next few weeks, CircEUlar partners T6 and IIASA will be running a series of online stakeholder workshops. The aim of these events is to explore the future of the four focus areas in a more circular economy.
Following the successful participation at the Klima Biennale Wien and the production of a series of artworks enabling the communication of research and scientific knowledge to a boarder audience, CircEUlar will be featured in an exhibition on Carbon Neutrality at local level.
